How
do I view my e-file documents?
E-file documents are stored in
TIFF format to make it possible to send them via
fax in case of an emergency. If you are having
trouble viewing the e-file documents, it may be
because you don't have a TIFF file viewer or the
viewer isn't set up properly. If the viewer is not
set up correctly, the simplest approach might be to
install a new TIFF viewer.
How
do I know if I have a viewer installed?
On machines with Windows, you can do the following
to see if you have a .tif file viewer.
- Click
on the 'Start' button
- Go
to Programs -> Accessories
- There
should be a program called Imaging - this is
the .tif viewer
What
if I don't have the viewer?
Install a new viewer by following the steps for "Installing New TIFF Viewer".
What if I have the viewer but still cannot open the document?
Install a new viewer by following the steps for "Installing New TIFF Viewer".
Installing New TIFF Viewer
- Download a free TIFF image viewer plug-in from
CVision Technologies
- Follow the instructions and install the plug-in for your browser
- Exit all browser windows
- Start a new browser window
- Login to your PersonalMD account and access the document in your E-File
Viewing
by saving files on your computer:
- Right
click on the image and save the file on your
desktop.
- Double
click on the document you just saved on your
desktop. It should now open using your computer's
existing imaging software - located in the programs
accessories folder.
- If
this doesn't work, you can try opening the document
in paint software - also located in the programs
accessories folder.
- The
fax document is actually a TIFF (Tagged Image
File Format) file. You can try and open it with any
other software that recognizes this format.
