Dr Phillips is a board certified emergency physician. She graduated from the University of California, at Riverside. She earned her M.D. at the University of California, Irvine. Dr Phillips completed her emergency medicine training at Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital in Los Angeles, California.

She has practiced emergency medicine for approximately 10 years in various parts of the country. Her professional interests include women's health, medicine on the internet, and self-care. Currently she is employed at a large HMO as an emergency physician.
