Bernard Aaron Cooper, M.D., C.M.
 


Dr. Cooper, a Clinical Professor of Medicine (Hematology) at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif. earned his B.Sc. with first class honors, Bacteriology & and his M.D., C.M. from McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

During his long and distinguished career, he has held academic appointments at Johns Hopkins University, Harvard University, McGill University, and Stanford University. In 1990, he was named the Louis Lowenstein Professor of Hematology and Oncology at McGill University.

Dr. Cooper has held numerous posts on national and international committees including: member, Expert Panel, World Health Organization, 1985; President, Canadian Hematology Society, 1978-80; Co-Chairman, Scientific Affairs Committee, American Society of Hematology, 1979-80; Chairman, Hematology Committee, Royal College of Physicians of Surgeons of Canada; and member of the Hematology Committee of the American Board of Internal Medicine.

A citizen of both the United States and Canada, Dr. Cooper has published scientific papers and invited reviews in many medical and scientific journals, and has written chapters and edited several books.
