Cancer of the pharynx (also called pharyngeal cancer) is a
malignant tumor that attacks the pharynx, the tubelike
passage connecting the back of the nose, mouth, and
esophagus. The cancer can spread (metastasize) throughout
the throat, as well as to other parts of the body and become
life-threatening.
